Understanding Money & finance in God’s Concept
Money is important in everyone’s life. With it, you are able to meet most of your needs. You can buy a vehicle, you can feed your family, you can build bridges to accomplish your dreams, etc. Money, however, has become a serious problem in many people’s lives. If you look you will find that the majority of them are working for money, instead of having money working for them and for the community and society that they live in. Instead of helping them to share love, money has become a real agent of greed and deep selfishness. If you look into the holy scriptures, you will learn how the ancient church members used to share what they had. Everyone used to sell their possessions and share it with the rest. This had not increased poverty among them. Instead, it had given them the opportunity to spread the gospel and attract many people to Christ. Yes, whatever agenda you may have in life, you will need to learn how to make people hear and support it. There is no powerful weapon to use than love. Love is a verb and not mere words or feelings. It is what you do and the sacrifices you make for others. People will like you if you speak well. But if what you say isn’t what you do, finally they will come to know the real you and you will lose their trust. If you look into history, you will find that people who changed the world and course of history used this strong weapon named love. The eminent example is Lord Jesus Christ. He spent his life feeding the poor, healing the sick, raising the dead, encouraging the weary ones. He is a great teacher of love. Today’s world needs people with the hearth and love like that of Jesus Christ.
There are so many examples of financially successful people. And everyone (especially young people), are working hard to imitate them – like everyone wants to get rich. There are those who will never fear to compromise so as to reach that status of being rich and famous. And when they are rich, there are not even planning to share their riches with others. The truth is, God wants you to get rich. This is because you are his child. In the book of Philippians 4: 19, will find that God has given you riches in Christ Jesus. Secondly, God wants you to get rich so that with those riches, you will be able to serve him. Yes, one of the ways of serving God is through your finance. Now, the problem with many people, is that there are no longer listening to God or seeking his guidance in the quest for riches. They just follow their ways, most of the time which will end into sinful acts or failures. What is perfect is to search for God’s guidance. You can find God in your finance through reading Bible verses that talk about riches and also through the act of prayer. If you seek God, he will be your strength and you will do great things and become a good example in your society.
